Following Min Hee-Jin’s surprise announcement that the NewJeans creative director is resigning from the ADOR label she previously led as CEO, the HYBE subsidiary responded briefly to the news while discussing future plans.
Shared through an official global public-relations representative, ADOR released the following English statement:
“It is regrettable that Min unilaterally notified us of her resignation. ADOR will continue to provide our fullest support to NewJeans to help them grow and thrive even further.”

Before she departed from ADOR and HYBE at large, the label offered Min a role as an internal director. Her request for reinstatement as ADOR’s CEO was dismissed by a Korean court less than a month ago, on October 29. According to a source familiar with the matter, Min had argued the executive structure within ADOR would have left her in an ultimately inoperable position without the power to oversee NewJeans as she intended creatively.
Currently, NewJeans is ADOR’s only artist, which the label’s statement acknowledges and commits to helping the chart-topping girl group “grow and thrive even further.” NewJeans had previously shared their position and hope that HYBE’s leadership would reinstate Min as CEO of ADOR. While a NewJeans album for the fourth quarter of 2024 was previously hinted at in earlier reports and expected by fans before the year ended, there do not seem to be any new music releases scheduled for the quintet.
NewJeans most recently appeared together at the inaugural Korea Grand Music Awards on November 16, where they won the 2024 Grand Artist and Best Artist awards.
