Ariana Grande had a thrilling 2024. She didn’t waste a moment of the year, as in its earliest stages, she dropped the lead single from her album Eternal Sunshine, kicking off another commercially successful era in her pop career. Now, she looks ahead to what’s next and aims to make 2025 another massive year, her latest full-length is celebrating a special birthday.
Eternal Sunshine Hits One Year on the Charts
This week, Eternal Sunshine dips ever so slightly on the Billboard 200. The full-length steps down from No. 100 to No. 102, but it’s not the position that matters this time around. Eternal Sunshine has now spent 52 weeks on the Billboard 200 — or, exactly a year on the ranking of the most-consumed albums throughout the U.S.
Ariana Grande’s Longevity on the Billboard 200
Eternal Sunshine is Grande’s seventh album to rack up at least a year on the Billboard 200. Three of those projects — Thank U, Next (171 weeks), Dangerous Woman (155 weeks), and Positions (103 weeks) — have all passed the triple-digit mark, ranking as her longest-charting successes.
Eternal Sunshine Stays Strong on the Charts
The album is still living in the middle of the Billboard 200, which suggests that it may not disappear anytime soon. It only needs to hold on for two more weeks before it ties Yours Truly as Grande’s sixth longest-charting set on the Billboard 200. That goal seems likely, and it could continue to remain on the tally for months.
Ariana Grande’s Album Started at No. 1
Eternal Sunshine spent two weeks at No. 1 in early 2024. It debuted in first place in late March, quickly becoming one of Grande’s half a dozen leaders on the Billboard 200.
Ariana Grande Teases New Music from Eternal Sunshine
The album is still performing well, and it may receive a boost very soon. Grande recently began teasing the deluxe edition of the set, which will likely come with several new tracks.
The expanded Eternal Sunshine is expected to arrive on March 28. With only a few weeks left to go before fans get to hear what she’s been working on – or possibly just holding onto since sharing the original full-length – excitement around the next piece of this era is growing.
Eternal Sunshine Spawned Three Huge Hits
Three singles were produced from Eternal Sunshine during its initial promotional run. It opened with “Yes, And?” and was followed closely by “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love).” Both of those tunes debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100, adding to Grande’s growing collection of chart-topping hits.
She followed them up with “The Boy Is Mine,” which was later re-released with Monica and Brandy. That track climbed all the way to No. 16 on the chart.
