Jin, one of the seven singers that make up BTS, is enjoying a moment to himself on charts all around the world. The superstar’s first solo project Happy arrived on rankings a few days ago, and with it came the latest focus track from this era. “Running Wild” is also new to a number of lists in several countries, and it helps the musician reach at least one ranking he’s never seen before.
“Running Wild” debuts on the Official Physical Singles chart this week. The tune enters the list of the bestselling tracks on any physical format—be it CD, cassette, or vinyl—in the U.K. at No. 6.
Jin earns his first hit on the Official Physical Singles ranking this frame as “Running Wild” launches. The tune also becomes his first top 10 hit on his own on the list, which is a great start to his time on the tally.
As a member of BTS, Jin has already appeared on the physical sales chart. The band has thus far earned one No. 1, as “My Universe” with Coldplay reached the summit. That’s not shocking, considering the immense popularity of both the boy band and the pop-rock outfit, which remains one of the most famous in the U.K.
BTS has also accrued two additional top 10 smashes on the physical list across the pond. Both “Fake Love” and “Lights” hit No. 4. Another tune, “Bad Decisions,” missed the highest tier, though it did climb to No. 13. That track saw BTS serve in a featured role alongside Snoop Dogg on a song fronted by producer Benny Blanco.
“Running Wild” is new to the top 10 on three U.K.-based charts. The smash starts its time at No. 1 on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads rankings as well. Jin doubles his total number of leaders on those rosters, as the previous Happy cut, “I’ll Be There,” also reached the summit.
Jin also hits a new career peak on the main songs chart across the pond. “Running Wild” opens at No. 25 on that tally, which looks at the most-consumed tracks in the country, not just the most-streamed or bestselling. Before this week, Jin had never reached the top 40 on his own, though he’d already snagged plenty of those kinds of wins as one-seventh of BTS.
