Jin, one of the seven members of the boy band BTS, reaches many charts he’s never seen before on his own this week. His debut solo album Happy launches on tallies all around the world, becoming a strong seller in dozens of nations.
As Happy opens in impressive positions, the set’s new single “Running Wild” also becomes a quick hit in a number of places. The tune rockets onto the U.K. songs chart, and as it arrives, it immediately brings Jin to a new career high point.
“Running Wild” debuts at No. 25 on the U.K.’s list of the most-consumed songs. That’s higher than he’s ever reached before on his own, though Jin doesn’t claim many solo smashes.
Jin has now seen three tunes released under his solo moniker land on the U.K. singles chart. Until this week, none of them had managed to find their way into the top 40, so “Running Wild” is now his first such placement.
Before “Running Wild,” Jin’s biggest hit was the single that preceded his latest win. “I’ll Be There” was selected as a promotional tune from Happy, and it rose as high as No. 44 on the U.K.’s songs tally. Prior to his latest win, “The Astronaut” flew to No. 61, where it spent one frame.
As a member of BTS, Jin has reached much higher than the position where “Running Wild” currently sits. The vocal group has seen nine tracks lift to more impressive positions. That sum includes four top 10 smashes.
“Running Wild” is new to four charts in the U.K. this week, and it appears lowest on the main songs ranking, but that doesn’t mean it’s not still hugely important to the singer. The same track also opens at No. 1 on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads rankings. Jin opens the cut inside the top 10, at No. 6, on the Official Physical Singles list as well.
