Terrifier 3—director Damien Leone’s shock horror hit featuring the murderous Art the Clown—is new on digital streaming this week.
Written and directed by Leone, Terrifier 3 opened in theaters on October 11. David Howard Thornton reprises his role as Art the Clown in Terrifier 3, while the series’ final girl Sienna is once again played by Lauren LeVera.
The official logline for Terrifier 3 reads, “After surviving Art the Clown’s Halloween massacre, Sienna and her brother are struggling to rebuild their shattered lives. As the holiday season approaches, they try to embrace the Christmas spirit and leave the horrors of the past behind.”
According to a press release from Terrifier 3’s studio, Cineverse, Terrifier 3 will debut on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, November 26.
Prime Video has Terrifier 3 listed for preorder on PVOD for $24.99, which is also the film’s purchase price. Digital rental prices are typically $5 less than purchase prices, so viewers can expect to rent Terrifier 3 for a 48-hour period on PVOD for $19.99.
In addition to Prime Video, Terrifier 3 will be available on a variety of other digital platforms, including AppleTV and VUDU.
‘Terrifier 3’ Shocked The Box Office In Its Opening Weekend
Terrifier 3 opened with a David vs. Goliath domestic box office performance as it knocked the big-budgeted Joker: Folie à Deux out of the top spot a week after the DC comic book-inspired movie opened in theaters.
The feat was celebrated 20 days later on Halloween, as Art the Clown rang the Nasdaq closing bell at Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square in New York City.
“Art the Clown and Terrifier 3 took on The Joker at the box office and won, and now are taking on the street,” Cineverse Chief Legal Officer Gary Loffredo said in a press release.
“As our company marks one of the most exciting phases since it began being listed on Nasdaq nearly two decades ago, it’s only fitting that on Halloween we are joined by the iconic character, from our number one movie, to ring the closing bell,” Loffredo added.
According to The Numbers, Terrifier 3 has earned $54 million domestically and $20.6 internationally for a worldwide box office gross of $74.6 against a production budget of $2 million before prints and advertising costs.
Terrifier 3 was also lauded by Rotten Tomatoes critics, who collectively gave the film a 77% “fresh” rating based on 116 reviews.
The RT Critics Consensus reads, “Taking an axe to yuletide cheer and everything else in its path, Terrifier 3 is a bloody fantastic stocking stuffer for the holiday season.”
The film also earned an 85% “fresh” audience score based on 2,500-plus verified user ratings.
Terrifier 3, which is unrated, will debut on PVOD on Tuesday.
