The focus at the moment when it comes to The Weeknd is on his new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. The set was released just a few weeks ago, and it holds notable positions on a number of Billboard charts, even as it begins to decline in popularity.
As millions of people continue to buy and stream Hurry Up Tomorrow, one of The Weeknd’s earliest releases is a hit once again in America. Beauty Behind the Madness reappears on three Billboard charts this frame after not landing on any of them just a few days ago.
The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness nearly becomes a top 10 title once more, as it reenters the Top R&B Albums chart at No. 12, missing out on that loftiest space by just a few rungs.
The title manages a similar performance on a closely-related roster, though it narrowly fails to crack the top 40 on that tally. Beauty Behind the Madness comes back in at No. 41 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart this frame.
The same bestseller is also back on the Billboard 200. It lands nearly in the middle of that 200-spot roster of the most-consumed projects throughout the nation, as it settles in once again at No. 106.
In the past, Beauty Behind the Madness has topped all three of those charts. It has spent well over 300 weeks on both the Billboard 200 and the Top R&B Albums ranking, but it has only managed about half as long of a stay on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums roster.
This week, Beauty Behind the Madness is one of six albums by The Weeknd to find space on the Billboard charts. Each and every one of them appears on at least two tallies, with some only landing on a pair while others find a home on half a dozen rosters.
Beauty Behind the Madness is different from the rest of The Weeknd’s current placements, as it’s the only one that is consistently growing in popularity. Every single one of his other albums falls on each and every Billboard tally it appears on, with one minor exception this week.
Starboy can be found on three Billboard charts—the same trio as Beauty Behind the Madness. While it declines on both the Billboard 200 and Top R&B Albums lists, it rises one space to No. 23 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums ranking.
Later this year, Beauty Behind the Madness will turn 10 years old. The Weeknd released his breakout project in August 2015, and it became a certified smash. By that point, he had already earned the love of many critics and music journalists, and he had developed a fanbase, but he had yet to break out in a major way. Beauty Behind the Madness earned the Canadian singer-songwriter his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and it produced his first two chart-toppers on the Hot 100: “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills,” in addition to several other huge hits.
